Revealed back in 2015, Astroneer sees players assume the role of a near-future prospector who must travel to distant planets to seek adventure and fortune.
The diverse worlds are said to combine “careful artistry and procedural generation”, and can be completely reshaped by your tools, whether you want to dig deep underground or create megaliths on the surface.
Unlike No Man’s Sky, Astroneer also features online co-op for up to four players, something which developer System Era is “absolutely committed to”.
Players can check out the first playable build of the game by downloading it via Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One and Windows 10 on December 16. The game will be available from Steam on the same day.
