When the Angels start attacking the planet Earth in the year 2015, only a handful of 14-year-old EVA pilots are able to stop them. Young Shinji Ikari suddenly finds himself forced to pilot EVA-01, a giant organic mecha, designed and constructed by NERV, that is the only thing that can stop the Angels.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered as one of the most controversial anime, but why is it controversial? That’s because it dared to be different, it pushed the boundaries of the medium that most anime wouldn’t cross. If you just look at it from the surface, you’d think it’s a pretentious anime with annoying characters, but if you delve deeper into it, it’s much more than that.

First I’d like to address an issue with the series that many people use against it: the symbolism. A lot of people say that the series of devoid of depth because its symbolism has no meaning to it at all. It might or might not have a deeper meaning to it, but even if it didn’t, this isn’t where Eva’s depth lies. After all, the real meat of the show is in its mentally damaged cast of characters.

I would say that over all the movie is not action packed but the story makes you think alot. I  highly suggest watching this movie.
